Melksham Town Council Support New Canberra Community Park

Melksham Town Council are proud to be supporting the creation of the new Canberra Community Park, in collaboration with Spurgeons Family Charity and 4Youth (South West).

Plans for the park, which is situated behind the Canberra Centre on Spa Road, include a community orchard, a sensory area, open seating, wildflower garden and a small copse with bug hotels.

The park will be run by an independent group of ‘Friends of Canberra Community Park’, who will report to 4Youth, who currently lease the land from Wiltshire Council.

Melksham Town Council resolved to contribute funding to the project at a meeting of Full Council on Monday 30th September 2024. A total of £7,988 (£6,657 plus £1,331 VAT) will be allocated to the project and will go towards the installation of pathways and any additional equipment needed to complete the project.

For more details on the Canberra Community Garden or to get involved, please email  choughton@Spurgeons.org or hello@4youth.org.uk.
