Melksham Town Council have approval from Wiltshire Council for a Temporary Road Closure Order under the Town Police Clauses Act 1847, to enable the Melksham Christmas Market & Lights Switch On to take place on Saturday 7th December 2024.

Alternative Parking

1. King Street Car Park will primarily be for stallholder and entertainer parking so spaces will be limited.
2. Lowbourne, Bath Road and Union Street will be the nearest alternative car parks as these will be unaffected by the road closures.

Taxis

1. The Market Place Taxi Rank will be relocated to outside the former Lloyds Bank building for the duration of the Phase 1 road closure while available (00:01-12:00) and then to King Street Car Park during the Phase 2 road closure (12:00 – 20:00).
2. Once the Phase 2 road closure is complete, taxis can resume use of the former Lloyds Bank building taxi rank until midnight when the Phase 1 closure ends.
